Full specifications by generation

The battery on a Toyota Camry is set by its generation, not its model year, so each generation has one page carrying the complete figures, part numbers and fitment notes for every year it covers.

Toyota Camry battery: common questions

What size battery does a Toyota Camry take?

BCI group LN2 (DIN H5), rated at 356 cold cranking amps from the factory. Group size is a physical dimension and terminal-position standard, so a battery from a different group may not clamp down or may put the terminals on the wrong side.

How many CCA does a Toyota Camry need?

At least 356 CCA. Going higher is harmless and helps in cold climates; going lower is how a vehicle that started fine in October stops starting in January.

Does the Toyota Camry need an AGM battery?

Yes. This vehicle requires AGM, not flooded. A flooded battery in a start-stop system is cycled far harder than it is designed for and fails early.

Where is the battery on a Toyota Camry?

Trunk, behind side trim panel (jump posts under the hood).

Does a Toyota Camry need the battery registered after replacement?

12V auxiliary battery only, separate from the high-voltage hybrid pack. Owner's manual spec: LN2 case, ≥64 Ah (20-hr), ≥356 CCA. Use a vented AGM/EFB rated for in-trunk mounting; Toyota recommends dealer replacement. All 2025 Camrys are hybrids, so there is no separate gas-model battery.
