  The front tie rods on 2020–2022 cars can bend after a strong impact like hitting a curb, then fail and cause loss of steering control. Nissan first recalled 2020–2021 cars (21V-461) for inspection, then expanded and superseded it with 23V-581 (Nissan R23B3) covering 236,238 2020–2022 Sentras. Cars repaired under the first recall need the second one too. Dealers inspect and replace bent tie rods free; a pull, off-center wheel, or uneven front tire wear after an impact are the tell-tales.

• Rearview camera image distorted or lost (recall)

  Damage to the rearview camera harness can distort or kill the backup-camera image on 2020–2021 Sentras (shared with 2019–2021 Altima). Dealers inspect the harness and replace the camera assembly as needed, free of charge.

  The B18's CVT is substantially more reliable than the B17's, but NHTSA and owner forums still log complaints of shudder on light acceleration, hesitation from a stop, and occasional early failures. Nissan issued judder-diagnosis TSBs; the 7-year/84,000-mile CVT-defect lawsuits of earlier cars do not apply. Keep NS-3 fluid fresh (60k severe interval) and document any shudder while under the 5-year/60,000-mile powertrain warranty.
