The battery on a Nissan Rogue is set by its generation, not its model year, so each generation has one page carrying the complete figures, part numbers and fitment notes for every year it covers.
Nissan Rogue battery: common questions
What size battery does a Nissan Rogue take?
- BCI group 47 (H5/LN2). Group size is a physical dimension and terminal-position standard, so a battery from a different group may not clamp down or may put the terminals on the wrong side.
Does the Nissan Rogue need an AGM battery?
- The factory battery is an EFB type. Match the type when you replace it.
Where is the battery on a Nissan Rogue?
- Engine bay, driver side.
Does a Nissan Rogue need the battery registered after replacement?
- The T33 has idle stop-start, and the factory battery is an enhanced flooded (EFB) DIN-format Group 47/H5. Replace with an EFB or AGM rated for start-stop, a plain flooded battery will die early. Many owners fit a Group 48 (H6) AGM, which is a common upgrade that fits the tray. Weak 12V batteries on this generation cause ghost electrical faults and no-start warnings well before they fail outright.
