No. The procedure above uses the vehicle's own controls. A scan tool is only necessary if the reset does not take, which usually points at a different fault. ### Why won't the oil light reset on a Toyota Camry? Repeat it exactly, with the engine off and the key in accessory rather than run, unless the steps say otherwise. Same two-counter scheme as the XV70 (separate scheduled-maintenance and oil counters), navigated in the digital cluster's settings menu. On some software versions the reset is also reachable from the center touchscreen under the vehicle-settings (car + gear) icon. Reset the oil counter only after an actual oil change. ## Sources - [Toyota Owners, 2025 Camry HV owner's manual, 12-volt battery section](https://www.toyota.com/owners/warranty-owners-manuals/digital/article/camry%20hv/2025/om06266u/ch06se030405/) - [Toyota USA Newsroom, 2025-2026 Camry combination meter recall](https://pressroom.toyota.com/toyota-recalls-certain-model-year-2025-2026-camry-vehicles/) - [NHTSA recall 25V-059, seat belt webbing](https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2025/RCAK-25V059-1157.pdf) - [fueleconomy.gov, 2025 Camry EPA ratings](https://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/bymodel/2025_Toyota_Camry.shtml) - [Toyota parts, 90915-YZZN1 oil filter (autoparts.toyota.com)](https://autoparts.toyota.com/products/product/filter-s-a-oil-90915yzzn1) - [ToyotaNation, 2025 Camry 12V battery spec (LN2, 356 CCA) and oil-grade threads](https://www.toyotanation.com/threads/consolidated-12v-battery-thread.1796315/) - [Wheel-Size.com, 2025 Toyota Camry OE fitments](https://www.wheel-size.com/size/toyota/camry/2025/) ## Find your exact Camry - [2025](https://whichcarparts.com/cars/toyota/camry/2025) - [2024](https://whichcarparts.com/cars/toyota/camry/2024) - [2023](https://whichcarparts.com/cars/toyota/camry/2023) - [2022](https://whichcarparts.com/cars/toyota/camry/2022) - [2021](https://whichcarparts.com/cars/toyota/camry/2021) - [2020](https://whichcarparts.com/cars/toyota/camry/2020) - [2019](https://whichcarparts.com/cars/toyota/camry/2019) - [2018](https://whichcarparts.com/cars/toyota/camry/2018) - [2017](https://whichcarparts.com/cars/toyota/camry/2017) - [2016](https://whichcarparts.com/cars/toyota/camry/2016) - [2015](https://whichcarparts.com/cars/toyota/camry/2015) - [2014](https://whichcarparts.com/cars/toyota/camry/2014) - [2013](https://whichcarparts.com/cars/toyota/camry/2013) - [2012](https://whichcarparts.com/cars/toyota/camry/2012) More Toyota Camry guides: - [Oil & filter](https://whichcarparts.com/cars/toyota/camry/oil) - [Battery](https://whichcarparts.com/cars/toyota/camry/battery) - [Tires & wheels](https://whichcarparts.com/cars/toyota/camry/tires) - [Wiper blades](https://whichcarparts.com/cars/toyota/camry/wipers) - [Air & cabin filters](https://whichcarparts.com/cars/toyota/camry/filters) - [Bulbs](https://whichcarparts.com/cars/toyota/camry/bulbs) - [Brakes](https://whichcarparts.com/cars/toyota/camry/brakes) - [Fluids](https://whichcarparts.com/cars/toyota/camry/fluids) - [Service schedule](https://whichcarparts.com/cars/toyota/camry/service-schedule) - [Problems & reliability](https://whichcarparts.com/cars/toyota/camry/common-problems) - [Key fob battery](https://whichcarparts.com/cars/toyota/camry/key-fob-battery) - [Specs](https://whichcarparts.com/cars/toyota/camry/specs) Specifications vary with engine option, production date, and market.
