# 2025 Tesla Model Y Battery Size (BCI Group and CCA)

The 2025 Tesla Model Y uses a BCI group Tesla proprietary ~15.5-16V lithium-ion low-voltage battery battery. Fitment, replacement notes, and what to check before you buy.

**Quick answer**: The 2025 Tesla Model Y uses a Group Tesla proprietary ~15.5-16V lithium-ion low-voltage battery battery.

## 2025 Tesla Model Y battery specifications (High confidence)

| Spec | Value |
| --- | --- |
| BCI group size | Tesla proprietary ~15.5-16V lithium-ion low-voltage battery |
| AGM required | No |
| Location | Low-voltage battery under front trunk area / behind front apron (Tesla service access) |

Note: This is the low-voltage accessory battery, not the drive pack. 2025 Juniper builds continue the Tesla-proprietary lithium-ion low-voltage battery (later 2026-model-year builds reportedly moved to a 12.8V LFP unit). It is designed to last the life of the car, is monitored by the vehicle, and is not a DIY or parts-store replacement, Tesla service handles it. No lead-acid option exists on this generation.

## Which Tesla Model Y model years does this cover?

These battery specifications apply to every Tesla Model Y built from 2025 through 2025, the 2nd generation ('Juniper' refresh), compact electric crossover suv (refreshed body, light-bar front/rear). Nothing in this specification changes between those model years.
