--- title: "Jeep Wrangler Wipers: 16\" and 16\"" description: "How the Jeep Wrangler wiper blades specification changed from 2012 to 2025, compared generation by generation. The Jeep Wrangler takes a 16-inch driver-side blade and a 16-inch passenger-side blade. The rear wiper is 12 inches. Includes connector type and whether a longer blade will fit." url: "https://whichcarparts.com/cars/jeep/wrangler/wipers" updated: "2026-08-20" --- # Jeep Wrangler Wiper Blade Sizes The specification is not the same across every year we cover, the table below shows exactly where it changes. ## Has the Jeep Wrangler wiper blades specification changed by year? | Model years | Driver | Passenger | Rear | Connector | | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | | [2018-2025](https://whichcarparts.com/cars/jeep/wrangler/2018-2025/wipers) | 16" | 16" | 12" | JL uses matched 16-in front blades (up from JK's 15-in) plus a 12-in rear blade; consistent across the whole 2018-2025 run | | [2012-2017](https://whichcarparts.com/cars/jeep/wrangler/2012-2017/wipers) | 15" | 15" | 12" | Sources disagree slightly (14 vs. 15 vs. 16 in front) depending on chart vs. what's actually on the car. 15/15 front with a 12-in rear blade is the most consistent factory figure across the 2012-2017 run. | ## Full specifications by generation The wiper blades on a Jeep Wrangler is set by its generation, not its model year, so each generation has one page carrying the complete figures, part numbers and fitment notes for every year it covers. - [2018-2025 Jeep Wrangler Wiper blades](https://whichcarparts.com/cars/jeep/wrangler/2018-2025/wipers) - [2012-2017 Jeep Wrangler Wiper blades](https://whichcarparts.com/cars/jeep/wrangler/2012-2017/wipers) ## Jeep Wrangler wiper blades: common questions ### What size wiper blades does a Jeep Wrangler take? 16 inches on the driver's side and 16 inches on the passenger's side, plus a 12-inch rear blade. ### Can you fit a longer wiper blade on a Jeep Wrangler? Going up one inch usually clears, but it is not free: an oversized driver's blade can overlap the passenger blade at the top of the sweep, or run off the edge of the glass and chatter. The factory sizes are chosen to sweep the maximum area without contact. ### What wiper connector does a Jeep Wrangler use? JL uses matched 16-in front blades (up from JK's 15-in) plus a 12-in rear blade; consistent across the whole 2018-2025 run. Blade packaging lists the connector type. Match it or the adapter will not latch. ## Sources - [NHTSA Part 573 Safety Recall Report 20V-124, clutch pressure plate](https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2020/RCLRPT-20V124-8022.PDF) - [NHTSA Part 573 Safety Recall Report 23V-787, 4xe HV battery fire risk](https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2023/RCLRPT-23V787-2073.PDF) - [The Drive, NHTSA opens investigation into 2018-2019 JL frame welds/steering](https://www.thedrive.com/news/29962/nhtsa-opens-investigation-on-2018-2019-jeep-wrangler-over-faulty-frame-welds) - [Go-Parts, 2019-2024 Jeep Wrangler steering damper guide, TSB 23-079-23](https://www.go-parts.com/garage/ps-2019-2024-jeep-wrangler-steering-damper) - [xtremediesel.com, 2020-2023 Wrangler 3.0 EcoDiesel oil spec (MS-12991, 5W-40, 9.0 qt)](https://www.xtremediesel.com/jeep-2020-wrangler-ecodiesel/fluids-filters/engine-oil) - [Victorville Motors / Fontana CDJR, Wrangler oil type & capacity by engine and year](https://www.victorvillemotors.com/service-department/service-tips/jeep-wrangler-oil-type/) - [Green Car Reports, 2021 Wrangler 4xe EPA electric range (22 mi) and MPGe (49)](https://www.greencarreports.com/news/1131650_2021-jeep-wrangler-4xe-plug-in-hybrid-rated-for-22-electric-miles) - [MotorTrend, 2021 Rubicon 392 EPA fuel economy (13/17/14 mpg)](https://www.motortrend.com/news/2021-jeep-wrangler-rubicon-392-fuel-economy-mpg) - [DrivingLine / MotorTrend, Xtreme Recon package factory 35-in tire spec (LT315/70R17)](https://www.drivingline.com/articles/37-s-and-no-lift-jeep-wrangler-unlimited-rubicon-392-xtreme-recon/) - [4 Wheel Parts, JL factory tire sizes by trim (Sport 245/75R17, Rubicon 285/70R17)](https://www.4wheelparts.com/articles/what-tires-fit-on-the-jeep-wrangler-jl) - [jlwranglerforums.com, JL cabin air filter part number and location](https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/forum/threads/cabin-air-filter-part-servicing.5432/) - [Edmunds, 2018 Jeep Wrangler specs (fuel tank, curb weight, EPA mpg)](https://www.edmunds.com/jeep/wrangler/2018/features-specs/) ## Find your exact Wrangler - [2025](https://whichcarparts.com/cars/jeep/wrangler/2025) - [2024](https://whichcarparts.com/cars/jeep/wrangler/2024) - [2023](https://whichcarparts.com/cars/jeep/wrangler/2023) - [2022](https://whichcarparts.com/cars/jeep/wrangler/2022) - [2021](https://whichcarparts.com/cars/jeep/wrangler/2021) - [2020](https://whichcarparts.com/cars/jeep/wrangler/2020) - [2019](https://whichcarparts.com/cars/jeep/wrangler/2019) - [2018](https://whichcarparts.com/cars/jeep/wrangler/2018) - [2017](https://whichcarparts.com/cars/jeep/wrangler/2017) - [2016](https://whichcarparts.com/cars/jeep/wrangler/2016) - [2015](https://whichcarparts.com/cars/jeep/wrangler/2015) - [2014](https://whichcarparts.com/cars/jeep/wrangler/2014) - [2013](https://whichcarparts.com/cars/jeep/wrangler/2013) - [2012](https://whichcarparts.com/cars/jeep/wrangler/2012) More Jeep Wrangler guides: - [Oil & filter](https://whichcarparts.com/cars/jeep/wrangler/oil) - [Battery](https://whichcarparts.com/cars/jeep/wrangler/battery) - [Tires & wheels](https://whichcarparts.com/cars/jeep/wrangler/tires) - [Air & cabin filters](https://whichcarparts.com/cars/jeep/wrangler/filters) - [Bulbs](https://whichcarparts.com/cars/jeep/wrangler/bulbs) - [Brakes](https://whichcarparts.com/cars/jeep/wrangler/brakes) - [Fluids](https://whichcarparts.com/cars/jeep/wrangler/fluids) - [Service schedule](https://whichcarparts.com/cars/jeep/wrangler/service-schedule) - [Problems & reliability](https://whichcarparts.com/cars/jeep/wrangler/common-problems) - [Oil light reset](https://whichcarparts.com/cars/jeep/wrangler/oil-reset) - [Key fob battery](https://whichcarparts.com/cars/jeep/wrangler/key-fob-battery) - [Specs](https://whichcarparts.com/cars/jeep/wrangler/specs) Specifications vary with engine option, production date, and market.
